Girls Junior Varsity Basketball, Girls Varsity Basketball · Lady Raiders Claim 7th District Title in 8 Years

In defeating Bishop Watterson 48-42 on Saturday, the Reynoldsburg Girls Basketball team has remarkably claimed their 7th District Title in the last 8 years!

The Lady Raiders got off to a bit of a slow start this time around at Ohio Dominican University as Watterson raced to a 14-3 lead in the first quarter, but the Raiders found their footing by hitting some shots and applying pressure full-court defense to outscore the Eagles 25-6 and led 28-20 at Halftime.   Watterson cut the lead to a single possession on a couple of occasions in the second half, but the Raiders (22-4) never trailed and held on for the victory and yet another District Championship.

The undefeated and top ranked Newark Wildcats will be the Regional Semifinal opponent on Tuesday night at 8:00pm at Otterbein’s Rike Center.  Newark defeated the Lady Raiders back in December, but Reynoldsburg is also the last team to defeat the Wildcats – doing so at Otterbein almost a year ago in the 2016 Regional Final.   The next matchup back on that same court  promises to be a great one!

Tickets for Tuesday’s game will be $8 at the door, but to avoid congestion and standing in line, fans are encouraged to purchase pre-sale tickets in advance for $7.  Pre-sale will be available as follows:

  • Monday from 9am-3pm in the Livingston campus Athletic Office and from 5pm-6pm in the Summit campus gymnasium lobby (exterior door #6).
  • Tuesday morning in the athletic office at Livingston from 9am-12pm

Make sure to get your tickets in advance and to come out and support your Lady Raiders at Otterbein on Tuesday night in this big game!
