Boys Junior Varsity Soccer, Boys Varsity Soccer · 14 seniors honored before Senior Night victory over Bishop Hartley

REYNOLDSBURG — With the Raider Boys Soccer team coming into their Senior Night contest against Bishop Hartley with two losses in its first 12 games and the JV team cruising to a 6-0 victory on the same home field a short time earlier, there was a lot of momentum on the Raiders’ side towards a strong performance.

On Thursday night, that momentum definitely carried over for the Raiders in what was the final home game for its 14 seniors at Baldwin Road Junior High with a packed home crowd.

Senior Garrett Chapman got the Raiders (5-2-6) on the board with 10:13 left in the first half on a penalty kick, while fellow senior Rubbin Jacobs got behind the Hawks’ defenses and extended the lead on a breakaway goal midway into the second half. Every senior contributed in a game where the Raiders dominated and out-shot the Hawks 17-4 en route to sending the Class of 2018 players off with a 2-0 victory in their final home game.

Goalkeeper and senior co-captain Gabe Philhower had 4 saves at the net.
