The Reynoldsburg HS swimmers participated in the OCC Ohio Championships at Thomas Worthington HS on Saturday, January 27. The girls team finished 6th with 77 points behind the champion Pickerington North and the boys squad scored 200.5 points to finish third behind league champs Gahanna Lincoln.
Freshman Kasey Lichtner added to her season accomplishments with a 4th in the 100Breast and 5th in the 200IM.
On the boys side, two relays finished 4th overall-the Medley Relay with seniors Alec Myers and TaJah Reynolds plus juniors Harvey Culbert and Jared Davis and the 400 Free Relay with Reynolds, senior co-captain Tanner Wooddell plus junior Justin Barnhart and freshman Nate Gaver. The 200 free Relay became league champs with a 1:33:18-Davis, Wooddell, Culbert, and Gaver made up the Raiders squad.
Individually, Barnhart was 9th in the 200Free and 7th in the 500free. Davis earned 4th in the 100Fly and 6th in the 50free. Myers was 12th in the 50free and senior ShaBhir Thompkins was 12th in the 100backstroke. Wooddell scored 5th in the 100free and 7th in the 100back while Reynolds was 6th in the 100back and 7th in the 100Fly. Gaver earned All OCC honors in the 200Free with a 3rd place and 2nd in the 100free. Culbert continued to build towards postseason success with a pair of league championships-in the 200IM and 100breast.
The Raiders complete their regular season on Friday, February 2 with a meet vs. Pickerington Central and Pickerington North at the Robert Fox YMCA in Lancaster at 7:00.
