On Friday, February 2, the RHS Swim Team concluded their regular season with a meet vs. Pickerington Central and Pickerington North at the Lancaster YMCA. The girls team was defeated 75-101 by Central and 53-177 by North. The boys team tied Central 123-123 and lost 142-118 to North.
Frosh Kasey Lichtner had several great swims versus talented competition; narrowly finishing 2nd in 100breast and winning the 50free. Sophomore Bella Hutson-Comeaux and junior Anise Hodge each added a new lifetime best swim, in the 100free and 100fly respectively, to help the team’s cause.
Junior Jared Davis stepped up with victories in both the 100fly and 100breast to lead the boys effort. Also, freshman Nate Gaver earned 2nd in the 100free while winning the 200IM, junior Justin Barnhart won the 500free with a HS best time, senior TaJah Reynolds won the 100back, senior Tanner Wooddell secured 3rd in both the 50 and 100free, plus freshman Dhishan Kashyap finished 3rd in the 100breast. Juniors Nigel Bryant, Greg Johnson, and Matthew Ufferman had strong meets with fast swims.
The Reynoldsburg Raider swim team returns to action on Saturday, February 10 when they will compete in the OHSAA sectional meet at Upper Arlington HS. The girls team will swim from 9:30 AM-1:30 PM while the boys action begins at 4:00 PM.
