News · Girls Soccer Starts 2018 Season

Yowza! Yowza!  The girls soccer team, all 41 players are working hard finding a spot on the starting 11 for both the varsity and JV.  Rain, hail, lightening and thunder also seem to be intent on making the team.  All in a good day’s work.

Over the summer the fitness test established some champions.: Push Ups – 57 – Alyssa ShiffmanTucks – 40 – Mary-Kate WatkinsBench Press -110#’s – Alexis LangwasserSled-leg Press – 465#’s – Mary-Kate WatkinsWagon Wheel – 14:02 sec – Lauren Miars40 yd Dash – 5:32 sec – Alexis Langwasser20 yd Dash – 2:95 sec – Ry Buck; 1.5 Mile Run – 11:10 minutes – Olivia Dulay10 K – 56:19 minutes – Alyssa Shiffman.  The over all “Fitness Champ” – Mary-Kate Watkins.

Hard work with Coach Evan was not the only item on the agenda; your Purple Footies attended two soccer camps, scrimmaged Grandview Heights twice and went to the EIS tournament.  All the while enjoying the rest of the soccer practices.

Scrimmages are rolling in like the summer storms.  The Footies traveled to Teays Valley for a set too with the Vikings with both Bishop Hartley and Mt Vernon due in on Thursday. Ah fun for all!

The camera crew has been on the scene snapping the annual team photo’s. Here is the JV’s shot.

Once again Harry has returned for the Fall after covering the Coronado HS Sting Rays Spring sports.
