News · Girls Soccer Senior Night

Senior Night arrived and it was time to celebrate the eight Seniors who are in their final season. The appropriate festivities were conducted.  The surprise is that the seniors were surprised it has so rapidly come.  Four soccer years gone in a wink.  Arrangements were made so Captain Caitlyn McKean was allowed to make her only 2018 appearance on the pitch and kick off even while recovering.  The senior players have worked hard building the Reynoldsburg soccer reputation and deserved recognition. The eight have been awarded 28 varsity letters and won 31 matches with more in sight.

A senior laden starting line up consisted of Alyssa Shiffman, Julia Bazley, Hana Fishatsion, Katie Hatcher, Skylar Loebrich, Alexis Langwasser,  Caitlyn McKean and Mary-Kate Watkins; plus Alissa Richmond in goal, Sydney Frydl and Ry Buck finishing the first eleven.

The nights match proved to be a very scrappy affair.  Westerville North likes to challenge hard.  The constant banging worked into the Raiders minds, distracting their effort.  Two corner kicks proved to undo your beloved Purple Footies.  Each was of the variety easily handled all season but on this occasion found the net.  Initially cleared the Warriors were able to knock in a rebound and send the Footies to defeat.

The record has been posted for the tournament draw, seeding to come Friday afternoon and again the Raiders are hoping to host a match and advance.  Keep a sharp eye for further breaking news.

Record 8-6-1

Up next is a away match with Lancaster HS on Tuesday, October 9.  JV starting 5:30pm and Varsity 7:15pm.
