News · Girls’ 2018 Soccer Season Rolls Closed

Central Ohio traffic seem to foretell the future and desired to lengthen your beloved Purple Footies season.  A normal hour ride stretch into the twilight.  The season came to a conclusion up in Powell versus Olentangy Liberty but not before the Raiders played vigerosuly seeking victory.

The Raiders stayed with their 4-4-2 formation.  This evening had Ry Buck of 23 goals and Kendall Craiglow with 8 goals in as strikers.  The mids were Isa Fuentes, Cassidy Collins, Katie Hatcher and Julia Bazley.  The back line was Alexis Langwasser, Mary-Kate Watkins, Polly Atrium and Sydney Frydl.  Alissa Richmond started as keeper.

The first 36 minutes were an even match with both squads generating chances.  The tide turned with a fairly nondescript play that had the Olentangy Liberty Patriots scrum a 1-0 lead.  The second tally came in the first minute of the second period.  The Footies believed a wrong call was made but the result stood.  All 21 players making the trip hotly contested the lead

In the end the end came.  RHS 0 OL 2

The lights started going off as the Raiders circled up and hugged each other in thanks for each others’s 5 months of hard work, support, friendship, fun, effort and achievement.  As always sadness left replaced with smiles and gratitude.

The 2018 squad achieved something not seen in over 10 years, a winning season with 10 games won.  Varsity Record 10-7-1

The Raiders awards banquet is schedule for November 7, Summit Cafeteria.
