Raiders News · Raider Basketball and Wrestling teams move on!

It has been another exciting winter sports post-season in Raider country… and it’s still going!

Here is an update on where things stand for our student-athletes still competing, along with upcoming tournament games/events this week:

  • Girls Basketball:

The Lady Raiders captured their 9th District Title in the last 11 years (!) on Saturday and will play tomorrow night in the Regionals against arch rival Pickerington Central @ Otterbein (8pm).    The other Regional Semi-Final will be played prior to our game, so the Rike Center will be open and fans are encouraged to arrive early to avoid any ticket lines and because parking will be at premium.   Tickets at the gate will be $8 per person, but are available pre-sale (online only) at the following link:     Pre-sale tickets are $7 each (plus convenience fees) and will be sold until 4pm tomorrow.

If the Girls win tomorrow night, pre-sale tickets will be available starting Wednesday morning through the same link leading up to a potential Regional Final on Friday evening back at Otterbein.    Make sure to come out tomorrow night though to cheer on and support our Girls in what should be a great game against a Pick. Central team we are looking exact some revenge upon!

  • Boys Basketball:

After a hard fought tournament road win at New Albany Friday night, the Raiders will now play at a neutral site Wednesday vs. Walnut Ridge @ Pickerington North HS  (6pm) in the District Semi-Finals against a very talented Scots team that features the Central District POY.  If the Raiders are able to win Wednesday night, they would play Saturday at 2:00pm at Ohio Dominican University in the District Championship (pre-sale tickets will be available online starting Thursday morning for Saturday’s District Finals)

  • Wrestling:

The Raiders advanced 4 Wrestlers (Noah Ratliff, Logan Smalley, Luke Goeschl, and Dalton Hall) to the Central District Meet from Sectionals at Upper Arlington this past Saturday (along with two alternates), with three of those four being Sectional Finalists!  What’s more, Logan Smalley became the first Raider Freshman ever to capture an individual Sectional Championship!

Good Luck to those four young men this Friday and Saturday in the Central District Meet @ Hilliard Darby (top 4 at each weight will advance to the State Meet)
